Mary Valley Artslink Inc
Mary Valley Artslink Inc was formed in February 2013 with the mission “To inspire the Arts in the Mary Valley through leadership and collaboration”.
Our vision is to promote the growth of the Arts as a viable industry within the Mary Valley by providing a framework to build individual projects. To network with other artists, regional organisations and the community. To hold arts creative workshops annually. To collaborate with artists to hold exhibitions locally and throughout the region. To host events aimed at adding value to artist abilities.
The organisation is a not for profit arts council and co-ordinates two major festivals held in the region, the Mary Valley Arts Festival and the Mary Valley Scarecrow Festival. In its supportive role in the community, MVAL also offers professional workshops. This provides inspiration to the community as well as an opportunity for the professional development of local artists and their employment.
In 2015 Mary Valley Artslink and the Kandanga Country Club signed an agreement to create an exhibition space for local artists to gain experience at exhibiting, and for patrons to appreciate the diversity of artists who live locally. Mary Valley Artslink also holds regular Get-Linked events where social interaction provides stimulation with artist’s talks, trivia nights and fine dining. In 2015 Mary Valley Artslink auspiced the grant to launch the 10×10 Short Play Festival as an annual event.
