MARY VALLEY ARTSLINK INC.

Establishing a viable arts industry in the Mary Valley
is the backbone of Mary Valley Artslink’s vision for the region.

Since it started in 2013, its volunteers have secured funds, hosted professional workshops and networked artists both established and emerging to develop individual, community and group projects.

The organisation is a not-for-profit arts council and co-ordinates two major festivals held in the region, the Mary Valley Art Festival and the Mary Valley Scarecrow Festival. It also operates the fine art gallery Art on Yabba in Imbil.

Agnès Tervé
Agnès TervéSecretary

Agnès (the A in a&b originals) was born and raised in the region of Brittany, in the west of France and migrated to Australia in 2005.

She moved to the Sunshine Coast hinterland with her partner Bernard (the B!) at the beginning of 2019 and started her new venture after many years of working in corporate.

Agnès has always been crafty for as long as she can remember. After trying a range of creative mediums, she found her true calling in the form of felting and more particularly nuno felting which appeal to her love of colours and tactile sensations.

Nicky Watson
Nicky WatsonTreasurer

Nicky has lived in the Mary Valley with her family for nearly 30 years, raising three children and was always involved in many school, sporting and community groups during that time.

Retired from operating a small business, she now has more time to pursue all those activities she had been putting off for years, sewing, cooking and travelling, to name a few.

Nicky joined Mary Valley Artslink about seven years ago and has been involved in different capacities. She is currently treasurer and art festival entry coordinator.

While she doesn’t consider herself an artist as such, she has always had an interest in and appreciation of the creative arts, and in volunteering her time to such a wonderful organisation as Mary Valley Artslink.

Christine Buckley
Christine BuckleyVice president

Christine has lived in the Mary Valley for 13 years and joined Mary Valley Artslink shortly after arriving. A lifelong lover of the arts and occasional dabbler in drawing and painting, she recently completed her BA Fine Arts and Visual Culture.

Leaving the paid workforce in 2026, Christine’s experience as a Chartered Accountant included financial management and systems implementation roles.

Most recently she was part of the management team of entities ranging from family businesses to the Australian branch of multi-national companies. She has managed cashflow and financial reporting and projects, and has ensured compliance with industry and business requirements including adopting best practice process and procedures.

Christine is enjoying volunteering for organisations such as Artslink where she can use business skills developed over 40 years while spending time in the local art sector. She occasionally finds time to work in her art studio.

Kaili Parker-Price
Kaili Parker-PriceMedia Liaison

Kaili has been a wordsmith all her life, and communication and connection are her passions for rural communities.

Starting as a cadet journalist in Gympie she has worked professionally in the media print sector for more than 30 years, adding her voluntary help in the not-for-profit sector for the past 18 years. She currently works for the Cultural Services communications team at City of Moreton Bay.

She has held executive roles for several Mary Valley organisations and has been editor of the Mary Valley News for more than 10 years.

When not at her computer, you’ll find her in the garden or chasing cows at her Imbil property where she lives with her husband, and her eldest daughter’s young family. She will build a scarecrow but has not been known to take up a paintbrush, yet.
