Organisers of the Mary Valley Art Festival have stretched their cultural offer into the performance sector, partnering with Perseverance Street Theatre Company.
President Heinke Butt said they collaborated with Dr Sharon Hogan from the theatre company and Imbil artist Pat Cale to create an original piece.
The project was made possible by funding through the State government’s Regional Arts Development Fund.
Dr Hogan curated a performance combining the artist’s voice, images, dance, and music for the art festival opening night on 25 July. The piece explored the artist’s creative journey from early uncertainty to mature expression.
The performance was recorded and will be shown again at a Mary Valley Artslink event in December. These materials have been archived for future workshops, talks, and performances, as the artist continues to develop work of anticipated national and international impact.
